64-year-old Ghana’s Attorney General Gloria Akuffo has opened up on the reason why she wears anklets sometimes.
The unmarried Minister of Justice in the West African country, has even one time, been captured wearing an anklet in parliament.
While speaking with Lexi Bill on Joy FM, Gloria Akuffo mentioned that it is more of a choice of cloth and she loves beads in general.
“It is more out of habit my choice of clothing. I recall when visited my daughter when she was in school, we were in the company of her mates; university students they saw me dive into the young people section and asked you have a younger sister we don’t know of? She said she is shopping for herself”. The Attorney General said
“It is not just anklets really, I love beads and coming from Dangme I grew up wearing beads. This anklet was given to me by a young lady friend of mine. So it is a token I wear in remembrance of that young lady who found me inspiring enough as a mentor…so I am wearing it for her really”, Gloria Akuffo added.
Gloria Akuffo’s love for anklets gained Ghanaians attention in October 2018 when she was in parliament to move a motion for the reintroduction of the Special Prosecutor’s (SP) Bill.
Wearing a black and white dotted straight dress which reached just above her knees, Miss Gloria Akuffo matched it with a black suit and an anklet.
