Woman who was rescued after she claimed her husband wanted to use her for rituals is said to be a psychiatric patient.
A video which went viral 2 days ago shows a woman tied up at the back of a SUV as she claims her husband wanted to use her for rituals before she was rescued by passersby. She could be heard screaming for help from the moving car, with her arms tied behind her back while her child is seen crying in the passenger’s seat.
According to the woman, her husband has used two of their other kids for rituals and he was trying to do the same to her and their last child.
She said: “My husband and his friend were on their way to use us for money rituals before we were rescued in Surulere, Lagos.”
Passery beat her husband and his friend after they heard the woman’s story, the Police were later invited to intervene.
New reports have now surfaced regarding the incident, a LIB reader claims the woman has a mental illness and was being taken to the Psychatric hospital in Yaba after she had a relapse. The comment reveals that the husband was interrogated at the Itire Police Station and later released after the police were convinced no crime had been committed.
The woman is said to be at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, receiving treatment for her mental ailment while the husband is also in the same hospital receiving treatment after he suffered an eyelid laceration he sustained after passersby who thought he was a ritualist beat him up.
