Adeyinka Grandson, an alleged ‘Yoruba Supremacist’ and President of the Young Yorubas for Freedom (YYF) secessionist group was arrested by the Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Command London on August 6, over his known social media attacks on Igbos and Fulanis.

Adeyinka was arrested on charges of “stirring racial discrimination” and “encouraging terrorism” by the Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Command who grilled him for 9 hours. His house was searched by the London Metropolitan Police following a warrant granted by the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The UK-based Nigerian man however denied encouraging terrorism or encouraging racial hatred, but stated that he was only campaigning for a return to the regional system of government. Though granted bail, the YYF President’s passport, two Google phones, one Apple MacBook laptop computer, one tablet, a hard drive and a draft copy of his new book were seized.

It was further learnt that his bail conditions include not accessing, using or posting on Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr or the website linked to the Young Yoruba for Freedom. Adeyinka Grandson is expected to live and sleep at his home address only and also report back to the Police station on the 2nd September 2019.

While Tinuola Asake, YYF Director of Communications claimed Adeyinka resigned from his job, insiders alleged that he was sacked due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.

Recall that Adeyinka Grandson called for the killing of Igbos residing in Yoruba land for not voting candidates top South-West Politicians wanted in the 2019 elections.
