A photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which was given pride of place in the Queen’s audience room at Buckingham Palace, is no longer there.

The picture of Harry and Meghan was displayed on the Queen’s table alongside a portrait of William and Kate and also another of the two brothers together in military uniforms.

The photo of Harry and Meghan was still on display in July when the Queen appointed Boris Johnson Prime Minister. It was positioned in front of the photograph of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

However, when Queen Elizabeth held a private meeting with the High Commissioner for Grenada, Kisha Alexander-Grant, this week it was nowhere to be seen.

A picture from the meeting on Tuesday shows Prince William and Kate Middleton’s photo still where it was on the table. Prince Harry and Prince William’s photo was also still in its previous position on the table. But Harry and Meghan’s photo was no longer there.

It is not clear why Harry and Meghan’s photo was removed but, according to Metro UK, there has been some speculation that the picture – that went on display after Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May 2018 – has been taken down to respect the couple’s privacy.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said it would not be commenting on the pictures.
