Two Nigerian gay men who celebrated their third Valentine together last week, took to social media to pen down an emotional post on how difficult it was for them to come out as gay men.
According to @danyomi, he and his boyfriend almost gave in to the societal pressure of marrying women even though they were based in a country where homosexuality was legalized.
After the post went viral, Dan Yomi did a video appreciating some of his friends and followers that sent their pleasantries, congratulating him and his boyfriend for the lovely post, he also acknowledged haters who sent him hate messages on his inbox, telling him how disgusting they are, he noted that one of the haters said they are going to stone them to death because of their sexual orientation.
Reacting to the hate messages, the young man who speaks Yoruba language fluently said;
“Before you go online to hurt someone, please I’m begging you, know that behind any social media account, there’s a human being, and no matter how they come across online… They will read the comments, those comments are going to stick with them, they are going to hurt them, make them feel scared, depressed, name it…”
