The Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Ghana Police Service has killed a suspected armed robber, said to be on their wanted list at Accra close to a spot along Nsawam-Akwamu road, MyNewsGh.com reports
According to police sources available to MyNewsGh.com, they had information the suspect and his accomplices were embarking on a robbery spree when they were trailed by the armed police.
On seeing the police, the deceased who is the ring leader identified Sherriff aged 40 and his accomplices started firing at police upon seeing them, hence the police also returned fire hitting the deceased on the ribs and head.
The other accomplices took to their heels, leaving their motorbikes behind.
The body has since been conveyed and deposited at Police Hospital, Accra, for preservation and autopsy.
Four motorbikes and one private car belonging to the deceased and his gangs were also seen at the scene of the crime.
