Nigerians who accused the government of not being transparent with the novel coronavirus pandemic have taken to Twitter with #EndCovidScamNow to protest the handling of the virus in the country.
The federal government through the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control have continued to release figures of people they claim have been infected with the coronavirus without showing their faces.
Nigerians who are not happy how the virus is being handled differently from what is obtainable in other places have accused the government of foul play.
Also, some patients who were said to have tested positive have also accused the government of failing to show them their test results, for which an index case from Benue state declared positive by the government has threatened to go to court after staying in an isolation centre for more than 30 days without showing any symptoms of the virus.
Nigerians on Twitter are now doubting if the numbers by NCDC are made up by the government in order to continue to get contributions which they claim end up being siphoned by unscrupulous elements in government.

If the white house is calling out the WHO after their investigation. Then I think there are a lot of things that are not straight forward in the whole Covid-19 thingy. No doubt people have died but a lot of things are not right #EndCovidScamNow pic.twitter.com/ospxEjTwk6

Let us face it, only our economy is on lockdown in Nigeria, people are not; people still travel across the country everyday. We cannot just watch and let our economy die while copying white people. We need to stop testing people and start testing the test kits! #EndCovidScamNow

I think it's time we #EndCovidScamNow. Yesterday, a friend told me how his Church offered their venue as an Isolation centre for the surging numbers in Lagos, and the officials rather asked them to 'bring the money'. Is #COVID19 a money making apparatus across all levels?
