Sharing a Facebook live broadcast of the former player this afternoon is Kola Edokpayi, he wrote;
This is Mr. Sunday Eboigbe, ace Central Defender of the Flying Eagles and later Green Eagles. He was feared by attackers but fondly referred to as the ‘Destroyer’. With over 58 appearances for the National teams, Sunday Eboigbe brought laurels and medals to Nigeria.
It is sad that a man that brought medals to our dear country is down. Presently he is suffering from stroke and has no money for treatment.
We want to appeal to our brothers and Sisters , home and diaspora, the Governor of Edo State, the Minister of Sports to come to his rescue by assisting him financially and otherwise

His wife who was a teacher at Ugiomo Secondary School was recognised by one of her former students during the live broadcast, also pleaded for help from the public, though I know this is a very difficult period for everybody ”she said.

Kola also pleaded to the general public to assist Mr Eboigbe in any way they can;
“There is need for our brothers and sisters both home and in the diaspora to assist our brother and our father financially, spiritually, morally and otherwise.
It is not easy for a man to contribute tremendously to the growth and development of sport, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.
We are extremely perplexed that he is presently in this state. It is sad!
The man that has done so well is supposed to attract the attention of the state government and federal government because of what he has done, but it is not too late”, said Kola Edokpayi
