Nigerians are reacting to the news of Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, reconciling Channels TV reporter based in the state, Pius Anglo, with his wife, Ifeyinwa, who over the weekend, accused him of domestic violence.
On Sunday, Ifeyinwa, a medical doctor, shared a video online calling out Pius for repeatedly beating her up in their six years of their marriage. Ifeyinwa showed her bloodstained face and alleged that he had just attacked her again after she cautioned him to reduce the way he spends money on other women since they now have four children. She welcomed their fourth child four weeks ago. Ifeyinwa accused Pius of beating her up while she was three months pregnant.
Governor Ortom and his wife, Eunice, met the couple earlier today and reconciled them. The governor counselled them to always settle their differences amicably and shun the temptation of engaging in violence.
