A driver and his passenger who were abducted by gunmen on Ibada-Akure Road have been rescued by the police.
The duo were abducted from a commercial bus marked KTP 331 RG after a gun duel with security operatives on Saturday March 6.
They were however rescued by the search parties which involved the police, hunters and members of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) on Monday March 8.
Osun State Commissioner of Police Olawale Olokode also announced that four of the kidnappers have been arrested.
A statement released by the police spokesperson, Mrs Yemisi Opalola on Tuesday March 9 partly read;
“The victims were released due to the pressure mounted on the abductors by the police and other security agencies.”
